Angel Papaloudis

Biography

Angelos Papaloudis is a psychologist - psychotherapist and maintains his private office in the centre of Thessaloniki. He holds a degree in psychology from Coventry University. He has completed his postgraduate training at University College London - Institute of Education in the field of Developmental and Educational Psychology (MSc in Developmental and Educational Psychology). He has also specialised in Social Conflict Psychology at postgraduate level at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. In 2020 he started to attend training in Systemic Psychotherapy at the Institute of Systemic Therapy in Thessaloniki (program certified by the European Association for Family Therapy (EFTA-TIC) and by the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAPTI, EEPSE). He is currently a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the Department of A Psychiatric Clinic.

He completed his internship at the Centre for Autism and Related Disorders, providing counselling support to families and individuals using the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. He has also worked with the Institute for Developmental Rehabilitation providing support to people with developmental and psychological conditions. He has been involved in several research projects (Centre for Health and Life Sciences - Coventry & Sleep Education and Research Laboratory (SERL)) whose main aim was to study the mental health of families of people with a chronic illness and to create intervention programmes to provide psycho-social support for individuals. Currently, he works at the Integrated Treatment Unit of the General Hospital of the G.Th. Gennimata Hospital providing psychological support to individuals and families.

He holds a license to practice as a psychologist (license no. 1522/2019 issued by the Prefecture of Kavala). He is a regular member of the Association of Greek Psychologists (SEPS - membership no. 1522) & the British Psychological Society (BPS - membership no. 425236).

Research Projects

Angelos Papaloudis has dedicated his professional career to scientific research, focusing on issues related to psychology and society. His areas of interest include mental health, family therapy, the development of children with disabilities, and social conflict.

After many years of collaboration with research centres and institutions, his work has focused on understanding the experience of living with schizophrenia, the quality of life of parents of children with disabilities, and teacher relationships in the context of inclusion policy.

With an increasing interest in the development of psychology, he seeks to contribute to the understanding and improvement of mental health in modern society. His research work reflects his commitment to creating knowledge that will contribute to the well-being of the individual and society.
